The ASCS type automatic backwash filter screen (electric water filter) produced by the Shanghai Power Equipment Research Institute was the achievement of key national projects of the state during the ‘Eighth Five-Year’ and it won the Third Class Price of Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Machinery and the Third Class Price of Excellent New Product Award of the Shanghai Municipality. This type of filter screen incorporates many international advanced filter screen technologies and it is the most advanced and reliable automatic backwash filter screen in China at present.
There are 12 - 36 filter elements in the ASCS series automatic backwash filter screen. During normal operation, muddy water flows through an inlet and enters into filter elements from upper and lower sides and then it is discharged from an outlet. During backwash, filter elements are cleaned one by one by means of water pressure. The filter elements of ASCS series automatic backwash filter screen are fixed and its blow-off pipes rotate. This structure results in no seizure of this type of filter screen and filter elements of the filter screen is not easy to be damaged.
The structural features of ASCS series automatic backwash filter screen include compact structure, small volume and good filtering effectiveness. The filter element of filter screen is made of v-shaped section stainless steel. Its features include:
Large flow area, small water resistance and good backwash effectiveness.
V-shaped section for reduced fiber adsorption. Non screen blockage occurs during long-term operation.
Long service life. In normal cases, the life expectancy will be more than 30 years.
PLC operation control, requiring no manual management for a long period.
Reasonable structure and relatively small volume with easy installation and maintenance.
During backwash, normal operation is also allowed and no separate backwash water source is required for water conservation.
